Spain holidays
The Canaries tourist site
The Archipelago of the Canaries faces the northern coast of Africa. This area of Spain consists in seven important islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gomera, Palma and el Hierro and other small ones, Graciosa, Lobos and Alegranza. The coasts are generally made of vast sand beaches intersected with reefs and deep bays. The Canary islands have a volcanic relief. The higher point Teide, is 3718 meters high, which makes of it the higher Spanish summit. Tropical climate
Climate of the Canaries is tropical.
Located in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, swept by the trade winds, and bathed by marine currents, the Canaries profit from a soft climate. The annual average temperature is approximately 20 centigrade degrees except in mountain where it drops. The rainfall varies according to the areas and is between 300 mm in the low areas and 500 mm in altitude. 300 days of sun and this ambient softness make climate of the Canaries one of the most pleasant in the world.
